In addition to the terrible Roman oppression, were there any hints from the propecies of Daniel as far as the timing of a promised Messiah? I had heard Chuck Smith on radio talking about that and wondered if perhaps the Pharisees had worked out a timeline for the appearance of the Messiah, based on Scripture.
